Dear residents of Linwood and nearby streets:
We are trying to stop the eviction of the Dedrick family, including two children, who live at 30 Linwood St. The move out date is June 30. They are being evicted by Solo Realty, an investor who purchased the home after foreclosure.
The Dedrick’s are willing and able to continue to pay rent.
They would also like to negotiate with Solo to purchase back the property. Many of you signed a petition we circulated supporting these goals. We plan a vigil this Sunday at 4:30 pm at 30 Linwood to again urge Solo to continue to stop the eviction and accept rent.
You are invited to come. The vigil is completely safe and legal. Vigil at 30 Linwood St. 4:30 pm, Sunday, June 29
To urge Solo Realty to stop the eviction after foreclosure
Legal vigil. Safe for children. We are members of the Brockton Bank Tenant Association, affiliated with City Live/Vida Urbana, a housing justice group in Boston. We meet every two weeks on Wednesday in Brockton to support people fighting foreclosure and bank evictions.
We also oppose “flipping”, where an investor takes advantage of low foreclosure prices to make a lot of money, evicting longtime residents in the process.
