Wheelchair users protested MBTA fare increase. Six protesters chained their wheelchairs together causing a traffic blockade in front of the State House.
The activists protested a 100 to 150% fare increase of “The Ride,” the MBTA transportation service for wheelchair users and disabled riders. Protesters demanded to speak with Governor Deval Patrick and traffic was gridlocked for over a hour.
