Dawn Belkin-Martinez has been an activist in the Jamaica Plain community for over fifteen years. She is an Assistant Professor at Simmons School of Social Work. She has been a CLVU board member for five years, and serves on the Board’s Personnel Committee.
Burleane Cooley has been involved with CLVU as a tenant leader for over six years. She is an active member of her building’s tenant organizing committee. She joins the Board for the first time this year.
Laura Foner works as children’s librarian at the Connolly branch of the Boston Public Library. She has been involved with CLVU since 1975, and is a member of the Personnel Committee.
Tom Kieffer is Executive Director of the Southern Jamaican Plain Health Center. He has been involved with CLVU for over 30 years, and served on the board for the past four years. He currently is a member of the Finance Committee.
Darlene Lombos (on leave) is a co-director at Community Labor United, and is a member of the National Steering Committee for the Right To The City Alliance. She has been active with CLVU since moving to Boston in 2006.
Debbie Lubarr has been active in social justice organizing for more than thirty years. A longtime resident of Egleston Square, she helped create opportunities for youth during a period of street violence. She also had early organizing experience with the group that later became CLVU. She now works as an adult education teacher.
Yadira Reyes is originally from Guatemela. She worked at City Life/Vida Urbana for 11 years, as a Housing Advocate for Healthy Homes/Healthy Families Program and the Latino Camprando Casas Coordinator. She has been on board for two years and serves on the Finance Committee. She is a __________. .
Maura Russell works as an educational administrator for the Massachusetts Board of Education. She has served on the Board of CLVU since 1999, and is a member of its Finance Committee.
